About Architectural Interior Photography Melbourne
Architectural Interior Photography Melbourne was created by Christopher Papastavros to provide focused photography and visual content for the people who design, build and shape spaces across Melbourne and Victoria.
Chris wanted to create a specialist photography business that takes the time to understand the intention behind a project, not simply how a building or interior looks, but how it was designed, constructed and experienced.
The aim is to produce calm, considered imagery that communicates the architecture, materials, light, craftsmanship and character of each project.
Why I created Architectural Interior Photography Melbourne
Photography has been a long-standing interest for Chris since high school, where he became known as the school photographer. Over time, that creative interest developed into professional work across architecture, interiors and business media.
Architectural Interior Photography Melbourne was created to give architectural and design-led projects a dedicated home. The business is focused on working closely with the people behind the spaces, understanding what matters to them and presenting their work with clarity and attention to detail.
Chris enjoys learning how each business operates, what makes its work distinctive and how professional photography can help communicate that value to clients, project partners, publications and award audiences.

Working with architects
Architectural photography should do more than record a completed building. It should communicate the design intent, form, scale, materials, movement and relationship between the building and its surroundings.
Chris wants to work with architects who care about how their projects are represented. The process involves understanding the important elevations, spatial relationships, design details and changing light before determining the strongest photographic approach.
The resulting images can support portfolios, websites, project submissions, editorial features, competitions, awards and future client presentations.

Working with pool builders and landscapers
Pools and landscapes are designed to be experienced as part of a wider environment. Strong photography should show the relationship between the pool, garden, architecture, materials and outdoor living areas.
Chris wants to work with pool builders, landscape designers and landscapers who need imagery that communicates craftsmanship, planning and the finished atmosphere of a project.
Coverage can include wide establishing views, design details, water features, garden structures, outdoor entertaining areas, aerial context and selected twilight imagery where appropriate.

Construction photography can document more than the final result. It can show progress, craftsmanship, materials, installation, scale and the people responsible for delivering a project.
Chris wants to work with builders, developers, shopfitters, suppliers and construction businesses that need reliable imagery throughout the life of a project.
Photography, video and drone coverage can be planned across key stages, from progress documentation and behind-the-scenes activity through to completion imagery and final project marketing.
A practical, collaborative approach
Every project begins with a conversation about the intended audience, important design features, access, timing, image usage and required deliverables.
Chris values clear communication and a well-planned shoot. Architects, designers, builders and project partners are encouraged to provide plans, shot lists, styling priorities and any specific details that should be captured.
On site, the process is calm and methodical. The aim is to create an accurate and concise set of images that communicates the work clearly while respecting the design and the people involved.
After the shoot, clients can review proofs where applicable, select their preferred images and arrange licensing for any participating project partners.

Christopher Papastavros is a Melbourne-based architectural and interior photographer with a long-standing interest in photography, architecture and visual storytelling.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time outdoors, going for runs and staying active. He enjoys meeting other business owners, learning how they work and understanding the ideas and effort behind each project.
That curiosity shapes the way he photographs spaces, looking beyond the surface to identify the details, decisions and relationships that make each project unique.
